The Department for Economic Growth and Innovation fosters a robust business climate, by promoting job creation, meeting workforce needs, creating amenities within our region and balancing growth by enhancing the environment, in order to improve the quality of life in Louisville Metro. The Economic Growth and Innovation staff works with other government agencies and the private sector to meet these goals.

The Louisville Downtown Partnership’s (LDP) mission is to improve the economy of Louisville Metro by coordinating an aggressive public/private program to promote the redevelopment, vitality and economic growth of the Central Business District and surrounding areas and to promote Downtown’s quality of life by creating a safer, cleaner and more enjoyable environment.

The Louisville Downtown Partnership was formed in 2013 and is comprised of two governmental entities: the Louisville Downtown Management District and the Louisville Downtown Development Corporation.

Kentucky’s only Business Improvement District (or BID), was established on August 27, 1991 to promote the economic, residential and cultural vitality of the core of downtown. LDMD’s mission has been to promote Downtown’s quality of life by creating a safer, cleaner and more enjoyable environment, providing services that are designed to enhance the physical environment of the Downtown, including improvements for better security, maintenance, cleanliness, and marketing.

(DDC) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the long-term economic health of Downtown Louisville and represents the community’s civic and business leadership. For the past 22 years, LDDC has played a crucial role in bringing together both the public and private sectors as partners in Downtown Louisville’s redevelopment and long-term planning, with LDDC serving as the lead entity in the development and implementation of the Downtown Master Plan.

Jeffersontown’s economy includes the largest commerce park in the region, one of the major commercial corridors in the County and a thriving tourism industry. Combining that kind of business activity with the quality of life that Jeffersontown offers results in synergy that is hard to duplicate.

The mission of the Oldham County Economic Development Authority, Inc. is to promote and maximize the economic prosperity and quality of life of the citizens of Oldham County.We work in cooperation and partnership with local governments, businesses, educational institutions, and community organizations to create a vibrant local economy, while maintaining the quality of life of our citizens, through both short-term and long-term strategies. OCEDA serves as the catalyst in bringing together potential clients and site owners within Oldham County’s boundaries.

The Shelby County Industrial & Development Foundation was established in 1957. It has made a name for itself and for Shelby County throughout the state and the nation as a county challenged to meet the future by recruiting clean industries that provide sound jobs for area residents. The industries of Shelby County provide 7,800+ jobs for the people of Shelby County. Today, the Industrial Foundation strives to assist Shelby County’s existing industries by providing job fairs, informational seminars, and any other assistance that might be needed.
